According to CNN.com, software giant Microsoft apologized Wednesday for the apparent bad judgment that led to the head of a black model being swapped for that of a white model in an online advertisement.
The ad -- which showed three business people, one Asian, one white and one black -- was altered on Microsoft's Web site for Poland to place the head of a white man on a black man's body.
"We apologized, fixed the error and we are looking into how it happened," said Lou Gellos, a Microsoft spokesman. (more)

Microsoft: The rampant use of stock clip art that you can only get from their approved photo library, the misinformed direction of some lower level brand managers, and the "yes" to anything MS of agencies desperate to please.
Have no problem with Polish memory hole of Africans and Asians in ads. It's not taking the time truly craft an ad that works for that market.
It's time for and an opportunity for Microsoft to see the value of openning up purse strings to allow for their B2B brands to have real photos shoots rather than use stock art that the design vendor are forced by uncreative brand managers to change. This is a failure or Microsoft to grasp that it's stock system is to blame.
