When President Barack Obama was first inaugurated, everyone wondered how the new, first-ever Black president was going to change things for African-Americans. A lot of Black leaders wanted to hold them to the task, but as they soon discovered, an entirely Black presidential agenda wasn't in the cards and it couldn't be. Now however their tune, according to PBS Journalist and leader of the now dismantled State of the Black Union Tavis Smiley, has changed so much that they now feel it's smart for the president not to have a Black agenda. On a phone call this past week, Tavis Smiley and Rev. Al Sharpton battled it out over what was and was not said. The last thing we need is a battle between Black leaders without any power to actually pass laws. Listen to the audio of Rev. Sharpton and Tavis Smiley below the cartoon.

Should Michael Steele resign from the RNC?
Members from both sides of the aisle are calling for the resignation of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele who blamed the war in Afghanistan on President Obama and claimed the war effort is doomed to fail. Do you think his comments are views are enough to push him out of office?

Is this the new W.E.Dubouis and Fredrick Douglas debate in the 21st centry? I say we still need a black agenda. There are going to be diffrent mind sets about our problems. On the one hand Travis is speaking for those who have gone to school and will be avaliable for the workforce and private sector. They somewhat have it made. They can afford the material things this country offers as a form of success. On the other hand Rev. Al Sharpton is still pulling for those in the trenches who have been dealt a bad hand. Born to proverty who just can't see the way out of the ghetto. And i fell those children men and women aren't just black. It's everybody who goes to jail as a young person learns nothing put back on the street to commit more crime and by the age of twenty five can't even put a plant in the ground. Let alone plant a seed to grow and harvest. Who's right everybody.
I know that this is cliche'-ish but I can't resist, "can't we all just get along?
